a wee bit of revolution

I know its been awhile since my last post. its not that I haven't had anything new to bitch about, or that I've been too busy, I just really hate getting all political about shit. however, there is something that has been buggin the hell outta me more and more as time goes on.

everybody got so hung up on the whole "under god" thing that they forgot about the most important part: "with liberty and justice for all." its like everyone completely forgot about the 9th amendment. and the 8th amendment as well! a base fine of $1000 dollars for possession of $10 worth of weed? there's an excessive fine if I ever saw one. (no, I didn't get popped for possession, its just an example.)

here we are, on the verge of WWIII with the middle east, fighting against what basically amounts to armed civilians who are doin the exact same thing that any american would do against a foreign invader, and our own country is slipping deeper and deeper into debt over a cause that we've lost all faith in. sure, at first it was all about gettin bin laden. 9/11 pissed us all off. we invaded pakistan to get the asshole. (yes, we did). but now our soldiers are going back for 3 or 4 tours in afghanistan, after they've already served in the war against iraq. they tell us its a war for freedom, but if we really wanted to fight for freedom, we would be fighting in africa against the warlords who enslave entire populations and force them into diamond mines.

because of the iraq war, former president george bush wont even leave the country, for fear of being arrested for war crimes, and we're protecting him. we're protecting the man that killed our country. our freedom. our liberty. everything that the men who founded this country believed in has been twisted and perverted or just flat out destroyed. don't believe me? think I'm full of shit? read the patriot act. and its not just bush.

obama recently signed a bill into law which makes it illegal to protest at certain political events and functions. the bill goes on to make it a federal offense “to impede or disrupt the orderly conduct of government business or official functions, engages in disorderly or disruptive conduct in, or within such proximity to, any restricted building or grounds when, or so that, such conduct, in fact, impedes or disrupts the orderly conduct of government business or official functions.”
that pretty much means that protesting outside the white house, or basically anywhere in washington dc, is a federal offense. going to where the politicians are and making your opinions known to the men in power, making sure your voice is heard, will land you in federal prison.

and I'm not even one of those obama haters. because its not about the man in office. he's a puppet. it doesn't matter who you put in office, or the color of his tie, because the old blood is there and they're the ones who make the decisions. and they aren't just going to go away. these are the assholes with their hands in the cookie jar, profiteering from a war that has nothing to do with the goings on of this country. and they're not gonna stop stuffing their fat faces until someone shoves a gun in it.

if george washington and ben franklin were alive today, I honestly believe we'd already be deep in a second civil war. hell, they woulda revolted in 1913 when the government started collecting income tax. its not that we're not ready to take a stand against the powers that be, its that we're not organized. and if we were to try to organize, we'd be arrested as terrorists. the men who founded this country put safeguards in place to ensure that should the government that they established get too big, too powerful, too greedy, that the people would have the ability to revolt against it. today those laws and safeguards that were put in place are slowly but surely being whittled away so that sooner or later, this wont be the land of the free, it will be the land of the downtrodden peasant and their imperial overlords.

I don't know about you, but I'm against any war. especially a war that will be fought in the streets of suburbia, against our own sons and brothers and fathers. men who enlisted because they wanted to serve their country. unfortunately they can serve their country, or they can serve their leaders, but not both. and once they swear their oath they don't have a choice in who they serve. the only people who profit from war are the men selling the guns and ammo. Now don't take what I'm saying out of context; I'm not saying we should go out and start sniping senators or anything like that, but there is something seriously wrong with this country when the people who live here aren't just preparing for, they're actually looking forward to the zombie apocalypse.

now if you will excuse me, I'm gonna wait by the phone. I expect the CIA will be calling soon.
